Oventechs policies

Terms and Conditions

The terms on which Oventechs accepts and carries out electric oven, cooker and hob repairs. They apply to bookings made online, by phone or by email.

Last updated 30 October 2026

1. These terms

These terms form the contract between you and Oventechs ("we", "us") for the repair of an electric oven, cooker, hob or range cooker. By booking, you accept them. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

2. Booking and appointment

  • A booking is a request. It is accepted when we confirm the appointment, normally by phone or email.
  • Arrival windows are estimates given in good faith. Traffic, weather and the length of earlier repairs can move them; we will tell you as soon as we know.
  • Someone aged 18 or over must be at the property to give access, or you must tell us how the engineer can gain entry. Where nobody is present and no access arrangement was agreed, the visit may be treated as a missed appointment.
  • Our engineers need a safe working area, live power to test the appliance, and reasonable access and parking. We may decline to work where the appliance or its supply is unsafe.
  • Prices shown on this site are for domestic appliances in the coverage areas listed at the time of booking.

3. Fees, parts and payment

  • Our fixed labour fee is £79 for a single oven, double oven, built-in oven, freestanding cooker or cooker hob, and £90 for a range cooker. It covers the diagnostic, a safety check, the labour to carry out the repair and the 12-month guarantee.
  • Parts are charged separately and only where a part is needed. The price is quoted and agreed with you before any part is fitted.
  • Same-day and emergency bookings carry a priority surcharge. Both amounts are shown on the booking form before you confirm.
  • No card payment is taken online at the time of booking. Payment is due on completion by card, cash or bank transfer, unless a prepayment is required under clause 4.
  • Where a repair cannot be completed because the appliance is beyond economical repair, or because a part is no longer available, the fixed labour fee for the visit remains payable and you receive a written report explaining why.

4. Who pays — landlord, tenant and managing agent bookings

When you book, we ask for your relationship to the property and who is paying. This decides when payment is due.

  • Owner-occupier, landlord living at the property, or a tenant paying for the repair themselves: payment is due on completion, as in clause 3.
  • A tenant whose landlord is paying, a landlord who does not live in or attend the property, or a managing agent: the repair must be paid for before the engineer attends. We will send a payment request for the agreed labour fee once the appointment is confirmed and the visit is booked in only when payment has cleared.
  • The person who made the booking remains responsible for the invoice unless we have agreed in writing that a named landlord or agent is liable instead.
  • Where a prepaid visit is cancelled before the engineer attends, the prepayment is refunded in full to the original payment method.

5. Cancelling and rescheduling

  • You may cancel or reschedule free of charge at any time before the engineer sets off. Call 0203 621 1034 or email info@oventechs.co.uk with your reference.
  • If an engineer attends and cannot gain access because the appointment was not kept, a wasted-visit charge of the fixed labour fee may apply.
  • We may cancel or reschedule an appointment where it is unsafe to attend, where the appliance is not as described, or because of an emergency. Any prepayment is then refunded in full.
  • We may cancel a booking before attendance at our discretion; where we do, you receive a full refund of anything paid.

6. Our work and the guarantee

All work is carried out with reasonable care and skill by an experienced engineer and is guaranteed for 12 months from the date of the visit. The Guarantee Policy sets out exactly what is and is not covered. Parts carry the manufacturer's own warranty in addition.

7. Liability

  • We are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breach of these terms or our negligence, but we are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable.
  • We do not exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
  • We are not liable for pre-existing faults elsewhere in the property's wiring or plumbing, or for appliances that fail for a reason unrelated to the work we carried out.
  • Nothing here affects your right to a remedy where a service is not carried out with reasonable care and skill under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

8. Complaints, data and general

If something goes wrong, please tell us first — our Complaints page explains how quickly we respond. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.

We may update these terms from time to time; the version published here applies to bookings made after the date shown at the top of the page. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
