Oven faults · £79 fixed labour
Grill Not Working
A grill that will not heat is usually a failed grill element, though on combination cookers the selector switch and the oven's timer can both lock the grill out. We test the element and the control path together so the repair is complete on the first visit.
What usually causes it
Failed grill element
The element glows at one end only, or not at all. Continuity testing confirms it in minutes.
Selector switch fault
The function dial no longer routes power to the grill even though the element itself is sound.
Timer or auto-cook lockout
Some models refuse to grill while the timer sits in an automatic programme. A reset restores normal use.
Overheat cut-out tripped
A grill used with the door closed can trip the thermal cut-out. We reset it and check the cooling.
What the £79 visit includes
Expert diagnostic
A qualified engineer tests the appliance properly — element continuity, thermostat calibration, fan motor, control board and supply — rather than guessing at the part.
Safety check
Every visit includes a check of the isolation switch, the wiring and the earth. If something upstream of the appliance is unsafe we tell you immediately and what to do about it.
12-month guarantee
The repair itself is guaranteed for a full year. If the same fault returns, we come back and fix it at no extra labour cost.
