Oven Fan Not Working or Noisy
The fan is what makes a fan oven cook evenly. When it stops, the oven either runs cold, cooks unevenly or makes a grinding noise that gets worse each time you use it. The motor and blade are replaceable on virtually every model we see.
What usually causes it
Seized motor bearings
A dry or worn bearing makes the fan stiff and noisy, then eventually stops it turning altogether.
Broken or detached blade
A cracked blade throws the fan out of balance and can catch the housing, which is the usual source of a loud rattle.
Obstruction in the cavity
Baking trays, foil or a build-up of grease can jam the blade. We clear it and test the motor under load.
Control board or wiring fault
If the motor is sound but receives no power, the fault is upstream in the wiring or the control board.
What the £79 visit includes
Expert diagnostic
A qualified engineer tests the appliance properly — element continuity, thermostat calibration, fan motor, control board and supply — rather than guessing at the part.
Safety check
Every visit includes a check of the isolation switch, the wiring and the earth. If something upstream of the appliance is unsafe we tell you immediately and what to do about it.
12-month guarantee
The repair itself is guaranteed for a full year. If the same fault returns, we come back and fix it at no extra labour cost.
