Hob faults · £79 fixed labour
Induction Hob Repair
Induction hobs are electronic rather than resistive, so the diagnosis is different: we test the pan sensor, the power board and the cooling fan before replacing anything. Most faults are repairable at a fraction of the cost of a new hob.
What usually causes it
Pan detection failure
The zone flashes and refuses to heat. Usually the coil or the sensor beneath the glass rather than the pan itself.
Power board fault
A failed module takes one or more zones out, often with an error code on the display.
Overheating and cut-out
A blocked or failed cooling fan makes the hob cut out after a few minutes of use.
Touch control not responding
Spilled liquid or a failed control board leaves the hob unresponsive or permanently locked.
What the £79 visit includes
Expert diagnostic
A qualified engineer tests the appliance properly — element continuity, thermostat calibration, fan motor, control board and supply — rather than guessing at the part.
Safety check
Every visit includes a check of the isolation switch, the wiring and the earth. If something upstream of the appliance is unsafe we tell you immediately and what to do about it.
12-month guarantee
The repair itself is guaranteed for a full year. If the same fault returns, we come back and fix it at no extra labour cost.
